This Nissan Almera is the Japanese brand’s entry into the sedan segment in the Philippines. It comes with a 1.0-liter turbocharged motor for all of its variants in the country and shifts via either a 5-speed manual or a CVT. In terms of safety, all variants of the sedan also get access to the Nissan Intelligent Mobility safety system with a few features being removed for the lower variants. Most of the models also get access to an eight-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay. Refreshed on July 10, 2023, the Almera features a revamped version of the Nissan V-Motion grille and a slew of additional equipment.

Nissan Philippines launched the all-new Almera on October 1, 2021, with the subcompact sedan featuring a more prominent exterior and a better interior that packs loads of comfort and tech. Initially, there are 4 variants available, with the following trims being powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox or a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
The current model replaces the prior generation which was last facelifted in 2015 and formally introduced in the market in 2013. In 2023, the fourth-generation Almera received another facelift, transforming the four-door Nissan sedan into a much more aggressive car. This facelift welcomes the addition of Nissan’s next-generation logo, new alloy wheels, and a wider, sportier-looking grille.

Under the hood of the all-new Nissan Almera is a small yet potent 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that churns out 99 hp and a hefty torque figure of 152 Nm of torque. Its power mill could either be paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT. The fourth-generation Almera is based on the Nissan V platform, the second-generation of Nissan’s B platform which the 2016 Nissan Kicks and the Micra mini car were built on.
The combination of these components makes the Almera a compact, spacious, and peppy car that is comfortable inside urban environments and wide open roads.

As for its gadgets, the Nissan Almera is equipped with an eight-inch advanced touchscreen display audio that comes with Apple Carplay, Bluetooth, USB, and AUX input. For its lower variants, the sedan only comes with a standard audio head unit but retains its Bluetooth connectivity. All variants of the Nissan Almera come equipped with a single-zone automatic type air conditioning system.
Refreshed on July 10, 2023, the Nissan Almera has gotten some additional equipment to keep it fighting within its segment. The new toys included in the refresh consist of the Nissan Connect service, wireless charging pads, and nifty heat-reflecting seats called Quole Modure.
Exterior
Now in its fourth generation, the 2022 Nissan Almera is thoroughly improved in the looks department compared to its predecessor, making it no ordinary update for Nissan Philippines. The subcompact sedan now features a redesigned body that's both sportier and more modern. Nissan's restyled V-motion grille design is present here, and it integrates seamlessly with the LED headlights on the higher trim levels. What’s different from the new V-Motion grille in the refreshed Almera is that it now drops the chrome V-shaped garnish on the bumper below the Nissan logo, instead, the grille is now wider and has a more pronounced “V” shape that drops down from the headlights and ends at the lower intake, flanked by the fog lights at each side.
Over to the side, the Almera features a more aggressive stance and a floating roofline to add some character to the vehicle. The rear gets redesigned taillights that look sleeker and sharper. LED taillights are standard across all variants.
Interior
The all-new Almera features a radically updated interior with Nissan's latest design elements. The gray cabin of old is gone, replaced by a sleeker black and blue interior. Nissan has done well in incorporating a mix of textures inside the Almera. The dashboard is now covered in soft-touch materials, helping add a premium feel to the subcompact sedan.
Its steering wheel is also new with a flat-bottom design that's wrapped in tough, hard-wearing, polyurethane. The top-spec model features leather upholstery and 60/40 rear split seats. All but the base model get a seven-inch TFT instrument cluster that can display a variety of driving information. All in all, the interior of the Almera provides an added level of sophistication with its features, unexpected for a car at this price point.
Safety
In terms of safety, the Nissan Almera is equipped with two to six airbags depending on the variant chosen. It also comes standard with ABS, traction control, ISOFIX tether anchors, and an alarm with an immobilizer. Aside from this the higher versions of the sedan also get access to the full Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite. This gives the vehicle an intelligent around-view monitor, forward collision warning, intelligent emergency braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and hill start assist.

I was not informed prior that I need to pay another ~Php5,000 as a "tax" to be paid or something like a proof that I will not use the vehicle as a TNVS. Even now, I cannot even explain how it is called. Good thing I have extra money on me so I was able to pay.
I was even constantly get offered by the agent to another car few months after getting my Almera just because I have another car loan.
