The 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) is now over, and with it came a slew of new and exciting models from several different car brands. Chevrolet Philippines is poised to take over the full-size SUV segment with the Tahoe Z71, especially as the Ford Expedition has departed the Philippine market.
The all-new Chevrolet Tahoe notably gains a larger profile than the outgoing Tahoe model. A new independent rear suspension gives the full-size SUV gains a lower rear floor area and higher-mounted third-row seats. The Z71 trim changes the Tahoe's looks with a black grille with active shutters, an integrated performance skid plate, and 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with all-terrain Blackwall tires.
As for power, the local-spec Tahoe Z71 gets a 5.3-liter Ecotec V8 gasoline engine that puts out 355 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 518 Nm of torque from 4,100 rpm. A 10-speed automatic transmission delivers power to all four wheels with an automatic four-wheel-drive system. Other notable mechanical features include an Autotrac two-speed transfer case and a four-corner air ride adaptive suspension.
The all-new Chevy Tahoe's interior features include a ten-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-inch fully digital instrument cluster, and a nine-speaker Bose sound system. There are also ten-way power-adjustable driver and passenger seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, and onboard wireless smartphone charging.
Safety features on the Tahoe include a 360-degree camera, Chevy Safety Assist with inclusions like Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Intellibeam lighting. The Tahoe Z71 also gets Stabilitrak, Chevrolet's electronic stability control system with traction control.
The 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe 4X4 Z71 is now available for pre-order after its local debut at MIAS 2022. The full-size SUV will sell for P4,749,888, and interested customers can now make a reservation at their local dealerships.
