A few days ago, leaked photos of the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander were released by an Instagram page named allcarnews. By that, the global market was given a closer glimpse of the upcoming crossover. However, instead of having its full reveal in 2022, the Japanese automaker has then confirmed that the all-new model is set for a global reveal in February 2021. This announcement was then accompanied by a teaser photo which flaunts the silhouette form of the vehicle.
The compact crossover was developed in accordance with ‘I-Fu-Do-Do’, a Japanese term that translates to authentic and majestic. In fact, the all-new Outlander is the first model epitomizing the new generation of Mitsubishi design. Furthermore, it also embodies strength and quality from the inside out.
The OUTLANDER is an iconic SUV for the company, so when we developed the next generation model, we took inspirations from our rich SUV heritage to realize a bold and confident styling with a solid stance that excites our customers.
While no other confirmed details from the brand surfaced just yet, reports say that the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander might have increased dimensions in comparison with its predecessor. This should perhaps give Mitsubishi the flexibility to provide the all-new model with third-row seating. Now, those two extra seats may be suitable for occasional use, as this compact crossover is not a fully-fledged 7-seater.
Apart from that, the upcoming model might also share a fair number of components from the current Nissan Rogue or X-Trail. This is due to the alliance established by both brands. However, there is a possibility that Mitsubishi might be releasing a plug-in hybrid powertrain like the one found on its outgoing model.
More information on the launch will be made available after the new year. For now, the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander's global debut will then be live-streamed in February 2021.
