More features for less money? Yes, please! BYD recently rolled out its 2025 Seagull electric hatchback, now available in three variants with prices that start at a competitive price of $9,700 (approximately P565,151.10).
The lineup includes the 305KM Vitality Edition priced at 69,800 yuan (approximately P565,151.10), the 305KM Freedom Edition at 75,800 yuan (approximately P610,530.99), and the 405KM Flying Edition, which tops out at 85,800 yuan (P691,075.97). Each model now offers new upgrades and different range capacities. The new Seagull has undergone minor style adjustments and some trims now feature electrically adjustable front seats. It comes in four exterior colors: Arctic Blue, Warm Sun White, Polar Night Black, and Peach Pink; with two interior hues: Deep Ocean Blue and Dune Pink.

Maintaining its original dimensions, the Seagull keeps to a length of 3780 mm, width of 1715 mm, and height of 1540 mm, with a wheelbase measuring 2500 mm. You'll notice the rear logo has been simplified from “BUILD YOUR DREAMS” to just “BYD,” while the front remains the same as before.

Inside, the Seagull features a 7-inch instrument display and a 10.1-inch central control screen that rotates and runs on the BYD DiLink system. The higher trims, Freedom and Flying Editions come with added features such as wireless phone charging and front seat heating, and also include a six-way electric driver seat adjustment.

The vehicle comes with up-to-date technology such as over-the-air updates, Bluetooth, voice interaction, WiFi connectivity, 4G network access, and keyless entry. It’s powered by a 55 kW (74 hp) permanent magnet synchronous motor, producing 135 Nm of torque, and uses the BYD Blade battery. The smaller battery models offer a range of 305 km, while the larger battery in the Flying Edition goes up to 405 km. All models can speed up from 0 to 50 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, and they support fast charging, which can recharge the battery from 30% to 80% in about 30 minutes.

With 191,037 units sold in the first half of 2024, the 2025 Seagull is a big hit for BYD in the electric vehicle market. While it's not available in our country yet, you can find and get quotes for current BYD models on AutoDeal.com.ph, all from the comfort of your home.
