The Changan Alsvin is the brand’s smallest vehicle in its lineup. This subcompact sedan offers the looks along with a decent amount of features at an attainable price point. Changan Motor Philippines Inc. believes that this model allows customers to expect more and nothing less.
One of the main highlights of the Changan Alsvin is its distinctive fascia that’s crafted with a so-called ‘Butterfly-wing’ grille. Lighting is then complemented by a pair of Projector Headlamps while its Platinum grade is then paired with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). Depending on the variant, this subcompact sedan could either come with 15-inch alloys wrapped in 185/55 tires or 14-inch alloys wrapped in 175/65 tires.

Open its doors and you are greeted by a cleanly laid out cabin. The leather upholstered seats are reserved on the range-topping Platinum while the rest of the range comes with fabric seats. Gladly, standard equipment includes the steering wheel-mounted controls for both audio and Bluetooth and a 7-inch touchscreen that’s either accompanied by a 2-speaker or 4-speaker setup. Other notable features such as cruise control and a sunroof are then made exclusive on the top of the line variant as well.
There are two powerplant options for the Alvin, first is the 1.4-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that produces 99 hp and 135 Nm of torque. The said mill is only installed on the entry-level trim and it is then paired with a 5-speed manual. Exclusive on the mid-grade and range-topping variant is a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine. The said mill produces a healthier 106 hp and 145 Nm of torque, as for the gearbox, it is then paired with a 5-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Standard safety and security features of the Alsvin include dual-front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), child safety lock, a seatbelt reminder, and a reverse camera. While the higher trims benefit from other equipment such as blind-spot view camera and monitor, reverse parking sensors, and many more.
Currently, the brand is implementing an introductory pricing program. Respectively, the Changan Alsvin range starts at the 1.4L MT with it having an introductory price of P539,000, while the mid-grade 1.5L DCT gets an introductory SRP of P599,000. Lastly, the range-topping Platinum is currently priced at P639,000.
