Isuzu releases an official video teaser of its much-awaited third-generation mu-X. The midsize SUV’s launch shall commence by October 28 in Thailand, with it being based on its pickup counterpart, the D-Max.
The video itself showcases several angles of the upcoming model, including the frontend which is quite different from the D-Max, with it having more curvaceous lines, plus, it also gets a different front bumper and headlights. This should give the Isuzu mu-X a more distinctive profile over its pickup sibling. It is also worth mentioning that this third-generation model comes with a generous amount of chrome accents.
Going over the side, it also gets some well-planted lines which do give the midsize SUV a stash of character. The wheels, on the other hand, are rumored to be measured in 20 inches, while it does sport quite an attractive design which should complement the overall look of the all-new mu-X. Lastly, the rear too gets a revamped treatment as well, apart from those stunning taillights, it also has a spoiler for that added sportiness.
While the interior may haven’t been exposed in detail, powerplant options for the mu-X, on the other hand, might be duplicated from the current Isuzu D-Max. That said, this third-generation model could be powered with either a 1.9-liter turbo diesel that’s capable of churning out 150 hp and 350 Nm or a 3.0-liter turbo diesel that puts out a healthier 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Both of the said mills could either be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
With the approach of its Thailand debut, we might have to extend our patience a bit more for the third-generation mu-X, given that our country is still waiting for the arrival of the all-new D-Max. Going further, we shall serve you more scrumptious updates once we grasp some necessary info with regards to the upcoming model. Better stay tuned as Thailand isn’t too far from the Philippines, so a launch in that southeast Asian country can only mean that the new D-max and even the teased mu-X is on the way to our humble archipelago.
