Mercedes Benz Philippines has announced that the sportier variant of its latest crossover has officially entered the market. The Mercedes Benz GLB AMG 35 is now officially on sale and serves as the new top variant in the vehicle’s lineup. It brings to the table a 7-seat capacity, a practical and premium interior, as well as significantly heightened performance under the hood.
Exterior
Distinguishing the Mercedes-AMG GLB apart from its tamer counterpart is a more aggressive and sportier-looking exterior. With the AMG badge under its name, it also grants the vehicle more specific AMG oriented parts such as a new grille with vertical bars and a new sportier front bumper. It also gets bigger and more aggressive 19-inch wheels that come in a five twin-spoke alloy design along with an AMG roof spoiler.
To match its sportier design, Mercedes Benz has also given the vehicle handling upgrades. The German brand has equipped the SUV to come with AMG high-performance brakes with special AMG lettering to let everyone know what kind of stopping power your vehicle has. Aside from this everything else is carried over from the standard 200 AMG line model.
Interior
Where things get a little more premium is on the inside of the vehicle. Just like the exterior Mercedes Benz has given the cabin a sportier look and feel thanks to accents found on the dashboard and on the door cards. However, just like its standard sibling the AMG GLB 35 also comes with Nappa leather all around. Where it differs from the standard variant is when it comes to the infotainment system. The regular model comes with a 7-inch unit, with the sportier model comes with a 10.25-inch display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard for the 7-seater SUV. To add to the already premium feel of the cabin, the German brand also gave the vehicle ambient lighting that is available in 64 different colors along with a Burmester sound system.
Power
Coming with an AMG designation means that the vehicle comes with big power under the hood, and the AMG GLB 35 certainly does not disappoint. It comes with a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbocharged gasoline engine that produces a very healthy 306hp and 400 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This gives the 7-seater vehicle the ability to hit 0-100kph in just 5.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 250kph.
Safety
The AMG GLB 35 also does not disappoint when it comes to safety. The SUV comes with a plethora of airbags, automatic emergency braking, driver attention warning, a reverse camera, and active park assist.
Price
Given all of its features, the performance under the hood, the sporty and premium exterior design, the vehicle commands a premium price point. As such the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC comes in with a price point that is around the P5,600,000 mark. A very reasonable price considering what your getting is a performance
