Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) once again handed out an Outlander PHEV, i-MiEV, and an electric vehicle quick charging station to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Makati City.
Actually, this is not the first time that MMC took initiative in promoting hybrid, electric vehicles in the country. As a matter of fact, during the opening day of the 1st ASEAN Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Summit last year, the company already donated five Outlander PHEVs and five i-MiEVs to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Aside from that, the Japanese brand also gave out one of each unit, as well as an electric charger to DENR last January.
This movement towards the greener environment is a product of the Memorandum of Understanding that tied MMC and DENR, which was signed in February 2017. This joint study leans toward the environmental load reduction using electric technologies.
“We are again honored to turn over our very own Outlander PHEV, i-MiEV and EV Quick Charging Station to another Philippine government agency, this time, to the Department of Trade and Industry. We firmly believe that these units and quick charging station, with the assistance of our friends from DTI, will further encourage the public to consider using electric vehicles.”
The turnover ceremony was headed by the DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez, Undersecretary Rowel Barba, Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo, Assistant Secretary Rafaelita Aldaba and Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) President and CEO Mutsuhiro Oshikiri.
