A lineup change happened in Mitsubishi Philippines recently—no it’s not a new model, but a new CEO for the corporation. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is proud to announce the appointment of its new president and CEO, Mr. Takeshi Hara. He succeeds Mr. Mutsushiro Oshikiri, who was able to lead the company for four years.
In 1993, Mr. Hara gained much experience with the company. With experience in several fields like plant operation, corporate planning, sales, after-sales for Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) in Japan, Thailand, and other countries. Prior to his most recent appointment, Hara was able to serve Mitsubishi MOtors Sales Caribbean Inc., as the president and CEO from 2019 to 2021. It was only in April of 2021 that he was able to join MMPC as the executive vice president and assistant to the former president and CEO of the company.
As the new CEO of MMPC, Hara aims to enhance the customer experience through the incorporation of programs that will help secure new customers and retain the existing loyalties that lie with the Mitsubishi brand. His motto is: “Serve our customers to enrich their lives.”
Mr. Takeshi Hara will definitely have a legacy to live up to following the former president and CEO, Mutsushiro Oshikiri. During Mr. Oshikiri’s tenure as president and CEO, MMPC remained strong in the industry even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. During Oshikiri’s term, MMPC was also able to achieve a milestone in the form of 1,000,000 sales and a 700,000 local production milestone.
Following the appointment, MMPC will still be implementing several structural reforms initiated by the former president and CEO. Under Oshikiri’s term, we were able to see new nameplates and models like the Xpander, Xpander Cross, and even the new L300. Following this appointment, it will be interesting what new products and innovations Hara will present to the Philippine market.
