Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) teased its new compact crossover once more – only this time, bearing a very familiar name. The car, which is all set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 7, 2017, will be called Eclipse Cross.
New teaser photos show that the Eclipse Cross bears a coupe-like silhouette that reminds us of the Japanese brand’s former sportscar with the same moniker (sans the ‘Cross’). Design-wise, the new compact crossover shows great similarity to Mitsubishi’s recent XR-PHEV II concept.
This new crossover has the brand’s Dynamic Shield design coupled with slim, angled headlamps and huge fog lamps. The back, on the other hand, gets the sloping rear window complemented by its C-pillar planted tail lights. Meanwhile, the sides feature distinct character lines that are stretched from the front doors to the brake light. If our guestimates are right, the Eclipse Cross may be a bit bigger than the ASX.
As for its interior and powertrain, however, MMC hasn’t released its technical specifications and trims. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait too long until we find out.
