Kaicene Philippines, under Berjaya Auto Asia, Inc., is presenting its lineup to the Philippine market. The brand aims to provide cost-effective vehicles to consumers and was introduced to the country in July of 2019 with two vehicles leading the charge. The company officially changed its name in July 2020 from Changan, like its parent company, to Kaicene.
Changan Automobile (Group) Co., Ltd is based in Chongqing, China. With roots stretching back to the year 1862, the company got its start producing military supplies and continued to manufacture automobiles starting in the year 1959.
Different companies are also working in tandem with Changan/Kaicene. The brand operates with joint ventures with Ford, Mazda, Suzuki, and the PSA group; which is responsible for the Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel, and Vauxhall brands. Chang'an is considered one of the "Big Four" Chinese Automakers.
