Dongfeng Nanobox EV Overview
The Dongfeng Nano Box is an electric crossover, relatively small in size, with a stance comparable to the Toyota Wigo. It's a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) made to fit the needs of metropolitan commuters with a priority on efficiency and usefulness. The electric powertrain of the Nano Box, along with its dimensions, makes it a good and convenient option for drivers looking for an environmentally friendly vehicle with maneuverability in tight city spaces.
The Nano Box's design and the way it’s made provide a good driving experience without the complexities that accompany larger, more feature-rich electric vehicles. Its technical features give a balance between the necessary comforts of everyday driving and the goal of a reduced carbon footprint.
- Launch
-
Launched on July 17, the Nano Box started with a price range between $ 9,700 and $10,600 (approximately Php 544,063.30 to Php 594,543.40). It comes in three versions, and as of the launch date, the wait time for delivery was about two months.
The Dongfeng Nano Box has been introduced to the market as Dongfeng's most affordable electric vehicle offering, directly competing with the likes of the Jetour Ice Cream EV. The launch of the Nano Box is Dongfeng's entry into the electric vehicle market, targeting cost-conscious consumers who are also environmentally aware. The launch highlighted its electric nature, which requires no gasoline, has low running costs, and produces zero emissions during operation. The company aims to offer a zero-emissions vehicle that doesn't compromise on modern features despite its place as an entry-level model.

The powertrain of the Nano Box, consisting of the electric motor and battery, is capable of a range of up to 351 km on a single charge, according to the manufacturer. The battery can be fully charged in under four hours using the 6.6kW AC charger, while a fast DC charger can boost the battery from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 30 minutes. The vehicle also has a claimed range of up to 351 km on the CLTC cycle.
