Foton Thunder Overview
Power is one of the most important aspects that experts are critiquing pick-up trucks for these days. FOTON was clearly paying attention when they created and unleashed their own turbo-diesel pickup – the Thunder. The FOTON Thunder comes in a 4x2 or 4x4 variants. It runs on a 2.0L 160 hp turbocharged AUCAN diesel engine attached to a 5-speed manual tranny or 8-speed automatic capable of 360 Nm of torque. The Thunder also provides exceptional value for money and as a result may be a more practical and cost effective choice for local Philippine businessmen or adventurer. The Thunder also has a slew of safety measures in the form of seatbelt reminder, child safety lock, a six airbag suite, reverse sensor., hill hold control, hill-descent control, and traction control. Other features include interior lights off delay, remote control power windows, and leather seats.

We were really in awe of the features that is included in the unit. Dashboard information has built-in TPMS, auto-connect with our android and apple phones entertainment system. The leather covered-seats, the spacious 2nd row seats, rear-parking sensors and camera. I mean, for the price, you can only find these things on high-end to mid model units on other well known, crowd favorite brands. Not as bouncy as Toyota Hilux when not loaded, more of a Nissan Navara 2.5 Calibre-X AT 4x2 2024 all-in-all Feel. Great buy indeed!!!

Foton Thunder 4x2 AT Cummins Engine
FOTON Metro Clark4.7/5

Actually, we do an in depth research on what pickup to buy since it will be our first time to buy one. Unlike with SUV and sedans, we are very familiar of ins and outs of these two types of vehicles. Our choices are Strada, Navara and DMax. We never considered Ranger because Ford is costly to maintain(Ford Escort was our last car). One day, my dad talked to his mechanic and recommended the Foton brand. He said that the engine is awesome since it is Cummins. Btw, Cummins is an engine manufacturer that is known for it's performance and durability. Dodge Ram, Ford(not sure if until now), Chrysler, and Nissan Titan(until 2019) uses Cummins engine. So we chose Foton Thunder. It looks good and the engine is awesome. In terms of driving experience, it seems like you are only driving a car. It accelerates like a gasoline engine and the steering wheel is not heavy to maneuver. It is not your typical SUV/ diesel engine feels. Though the cabin space of the passengers at the back is just enough for 5'7" to 5'11" adults. It will be slightly tight for 6 footer people. Hopefully, Foton could improve this aspect. :) Other than this, everything is okay. For it's price, it is so worth it in terms of driving experience, power and the pickup design. I think the people should consider buying Foton Thunder if they are looking for performance, durability, style and not too expensive option. :)
