GAC Empow Overview
The Empow is GAC's entry into the compact sports sedan segment. The new sedan is placed between the GA4 compact sedan and the GA8 executive sedan. The Empow was launched alongside the second generation of the GS8 SUV. Appearance-wise, the Empow radiates performance, from its wide grille, and sleek headlights, to its quad exhaust pipes at the back. The interior of the Empow is clad in leather and scattered with soft materials all throughout, giving the Empow an executive feel inside. A seven-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment display come standard for all three variant levels of the Empow.
The Empow comes in three variants: the GS, GB, and GE. All three variants are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine putting out 174 horsepower and 270 nm of torque mated to a 7-speed Wet Dual-clutch transmission.

The GAC Empow was launched in January 2023 alongside the second generation of the GS8 SUV nameplate. It is available in three variants with one powerplant standard for all three. The mid-range and range-topping variants get a ton of driver aids, safety features, and interior trim choices. The GAC Empow is available in four color options: Elegant Black, Ivory White, Moonlight Gray, and Matte Fighter Green, which will only be available for the GE variant.

A 1.5-liter turbocharged engine is the only available engine option for the four Empow variants. This power unit is capable of 174 horsepower and 270 nm of torque. Power is delivered to the front wheels through a seven-speed Wet Dual-Clutch Transmission. GAC says that the Empow is capable of reaching 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.95 seconds.
The compact sports sedan rides on a MacPherson-type independent suspension at the front and a multi-link beam suspension at the rear. Disc brakes stop the sporty sedan on all four corners of the vehicle. All variants come equipped with electric power steering.

The Empow comes with a seven-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment display. The head unit has Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity. All variants have a USB port and a 12v power outlet at the front row. Passive Entry and Start are available for all variants. Meanwhile, the mid-range and top-of-the-range variants come with Adaptive Cruise Control.

The Empow features aggressive styling to adequately convey its sporty capabilities. The Empow sports an aggressive front fascia, the most noticeable being its large grille and sharp headlights. At the bottom of the grille is a slim front lip that is flanked at the sides by two vertical air vents.
Completing the sporty look of the Empow are large two-tone 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels and quad exhaust pipes at the rear.

On the inside, the Empow has an upmarket look and feel. Besides the GS variant, leather is used all throughout the inside giving the Empow an upmarket atmosphere. A seven-inch digital instrument cluster is placed at the driver’s side while a 10.25-inch infotainment display is mounted on the dash, this infotainment system comes with Apple Carplay connectivity. Other things you’ll find inside include a power sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, multiple USB-A ports, and a built-in negative ion air purifier.

The GAC Empow comes with the standard set of dual front airbags and ABS. Other features that come standard with all variants include a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Electric Brakeforce Distribution, Electronic Stability Program, ISOFIX anchor points, Engine Immobilizer, and Hill-start/Hill-hold control. The GB and GE variants come equipped with Front Side Airbags and Curtain Airbags.

Overall maganda, kaso nagkaroon ng knocking sound agad sa engine bay. Sabi sa GAC community group - hindi normal yung sound pero conclusion sa GAC is normal daw (galing sa crankshaft). This started noong mag 1 month palang and 1.2k ODO ng unit ko.
