Volkswagen Lavida Overview
Another best-seller in China, the Lavida's penetration in the Philippine soil supports Volkswagen's statement towards the local market. This compact sedan, which is also dubbed as the second best-selling model in the Chinese car market, replaces the Jetta. Upfront, it looks close to being a Jetta but with fresher bumper and new grille design. It harbors in Volkswagen's current design language seen on the latest models – headlights seamlessly merged with the grille. In addition, the fog light housing on the Lavida, compared to the Jetta, is sizier and goes better with the headlamps. Under the hood, the Lavida has a smaller engine which uses gasoline instead of diesel. Volkswagen blesses it with a 1.4-liter TSI gasoline engine with BlueMotion Technology for better fuel efficiency. This is then mated to a 7-speed Direct SHift Gearbox (DSG) transmission which, altogether, gives the car 128 hp and 225 Nm of torque.

If you’re don’t want an car equipped the those current but distracting multi-media displays…but still gives you the safety tech, space, luxury, comfort and refinement of a European brand (at a reasonable price), then this is worth including in your short list!
