Honda Civic Overview
The Honda Civic is Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. formidable entry into the compact sedan segment. The 11th-generation version of the vehicle now comes with new and sportier styling along with a host of new technologies that complement its new design. It is available in the Philippine market with three variants each of them equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that is mated to a CVT. Aside from this, Honda has also equipped the sporty compact sedan with Honda SENSING as standard for all models further increasing the vehicle's safety features.

The 11th-generation Honda Civic was launched in the Philippines on November 23, 2021. It was made available with three variants all of which carry the 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that was once only seen in the top RS Turbo trim. The new version of the sedan aims to solidify itself as one of the popular entries in the compact sedan segment by bringing with it a host of new features. Honda Philippines has also given the new Civic Honda SENSING technology as standard further increasing the number of safety features the vehicle has.

The Honda Civic sits on the brand’s global compact car platform with a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout. Under its hood, the Civic has a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 175hp and 240 Nm of torque which is mated to a CVT. For its suspension, the compact sedan rides on MacPherson struts with a stabilizer up front and a multi-link setup at the back. Disc brakes are also standard across the range.

The Honda Civic covers more than the basics in terms of features for its latest iteration. It can now be had with a much larger infotainment system coming in either 9 or 7-inches depending on the variant chosen. Similar to its processors these infotainment systems now come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard with the 9-inch model coming with wireless charging and wireless Apple CarPlay support. Aside from this new digital displays are also available with the vehicle coming in either a 10.2-inch or a 7-inch display depending on the model.

For its 11th generation, the Honda Civic has much more of a subtle look compared to its older version. It still retains some of its angular body accents over its body but now features a fresh and sporty front fascia that comes with a new set of LED or halogen headlights and a much more defined grille. At the rear, the Honda Civic continues its more sporty yet subtle styling with a new set of LED taillights that help give the vehicle a more refined look. The compact sedan also gets a new set of wheels for all of its variants along with a body kit for the RS model.

The Honda Civic has a sporty interior layout and the materials used are mostly soft plastics, leather, and/or soft fabric. The RS trims have sporty accents, too, in the form of contrasting stitches and seat designs. It’s also notable to mention that top-tier Civics have bigger digital display clusters that match the display 9-inch head unit.
The cabin space of the Civic is one of the biggest in its class, as well as the trunk that’s expandable by folding the rear seats.

Standard in the Honda Civic range is 4 airbags with the RS model getting 6, ABS with EBD, stability control, emergency stop signal, hill-start assists, walk-away auto-lock, keyless entry, immobilizer, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. Honda also touts the Civic’s G-Force Control (G-CON) body construction. Honda Philippines also added Honda SENSING to the Civic range giving the sedan access to such features like adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, lane keep assist system, road departure mitigation system, lane departure warning, auto high beam, and lead car departure notification just to name a few.

It takes too long to register the car. I still don’t have the Certificate of Registration for more than one and a half month. I can’t use my car regularly. Driving an unregistered car will be a big problem for the owner. They keep telling me it’s the fault of LTO but my daughter bought a Toyota cross recently, after less than two weeks she got her plate and Cert of Reg.
