Lexus LC Overview
The LC is Lexus flagship in the local market's coupe segment. The classy Japanese four-seater coupe features the the brand's spindle grille in 3D mesh, complemented by a set of L-shape daytime running lights on the headlamps. This, along with its low-on-ground stance, brag about the brand's true identity. All 4 passengers are to be greeted by high-grade leather and an Alcantara-wrapped cabin, from the steering wheel, all the way to the seats. To further add class, Lexus accentuates these with metal trims found all over the cockpit, which houses the 10.3-inch Electro Multi-Vision Display that shows the vehicle information and entertainment features, and is supported by 13 surrounding speakers. Power-wise, a 5.0 naturally-aspirated V8 engine is found under the hood, which feeds the car with 471 hp and 50 Nm of torque. This thunderous engine is coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission, giving the car the ability to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.
- Launch
-
In 2012, Lexus introduced the LF-LC Concept, which it later put into production as the LC. Formally introduced at the 2016 North American International Auto Show, the luxury coupe has since stood strong as Lexus' flagship sports coupe. The very next year, Lexus Manila officially brought over the LC to the Philippines. Then in 2020, it made the LC Convertible available for purchase.
- Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
-
The new Lexus LC began development in 2011. Codenamed "950A," the LC first became known to the public as the LF-LC Concept vehicle. It's the first Lexus model to use the GA-L platform or the Toyota New Global Architecture. It shares its underpinnings with the full-size XF50 LS sedan. The front-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports coupe uses a push-rod operated double wishbone suspension system with twin dampers, torsion bars, and springs. Six-piston and four-piston brake calipers for the front and rear, respectively, give the LC ample braking power. The star of the show is the 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 gasoline engine with 471 hp at 7,100 RPM and 540 Nm of torque from 4,800 RPM. The roaring power plant sends power to the rear wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission.

-
As one of Lexus' primary models, the LC comes ready with the brand's most desirable technology. These include the massive 10.3-inch Electro Multi-Vision Display for infotainment and navigation, the Mark Levinson Surround Sound system with 13 speakers, and a 4.2-inch multi-information display for getting all the information needed at a glance. On top of that, the LC packs features like driver and passenger eight-way power-adjustable seats, ventilated seats, and dual-zone climate control air conditioning.
- Exterior
-
As Lexus' flagship coupe, the LC represents the purest expression of the brand's design. This manifests in the large spindle grille, the sleek and sharp LED headlamps, the low-slung body, and a wide stance. The bold design provokes second looks with its inspired front end with arrowhead running lights. The rear gets a similar look, only with 80 LED lights that shine bright wherever you take it. If that's not enough, there's also an available carbon roof and carbon fiber detailing on the performance package.
- Interior
-
The interior of the Lexus LC is made for the driver. The sports coupe's driver-centric layout features easy-to-reach switches and toggles for a more focused experience. The Takumi leather steering wheel has been carefully tested to provide optimal feel. Behind that is a gorgeous display with a tachometer that changes according to the drive mode. Beside that is another screen, a Electro Multi-Vision display with superior picture quality. Overall, the Shimamoku-themed interior gives the LC a cabin experience you can't find anywhere else.
- Safety
-
The Lexus LC is equipped with safety features like eight SRS airbags, cruise control, ABS, hill-start assist, brake assist, vehicle stability control, traction control, clearance and back sensors, and a back guide monitor. The LC also features an impact-absorbing pop-up hood for impact safety, along with LED cornering lamps, and a blind spot monitor.
