Lotus Eletre Overview
The Eletre is a battery-electric full-size luxury crossover from the British sports cars marque, Lotus. Inspired by the looks of the limited-production Evija electric sports car, the Eletre is a sleek crossover SUV that has a primary focus on performance and luxury.
According to Lotus, the Eletre is capable of completing a zero to 100 sprint in 2.95 seconds while also being able to reach a 490 km driving range. Speed is also a big factor in the Eletre’s charging capabilities, capable of charging from 10 to 80 percent charge in only 20 minutes and up to 120 km of range with just five minutes of charging time.
Built to be nimble, fast, and usable, Lotus has masterfully made use of cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) technology and its experience in building sports cars to make the Eletre a unique and exhilarating crossover.
- Launch
-
Lotus Philippines launched the Eletre R on October 19, 2023, a few months after it was officially launched on the global market. The Eletre is built on top of the Sustainable Experience Architecture platform, a new platform intended to underpin future EVs. At launch, the Eletre was made available at an exclusive introductory price of P9,999,000 for a limited time, with the regular retail price set at P10,499,000.
- Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
-
The Eletre is built on top of the Sustainable Experience Architecture platform, a new platform developed for EVs. Propelling the Eletre are two electric motors driving the front and rear wheels. Power is provided by a lithium-ion battery with a 112 kWh capacity, this allows the Eletre to reach a driving range of up to 600 km.
In terms of performance, the electric Eletre R has 905 hp and a beastly 985 Nm of torque, all this grunt is transferred to the road through an all-time four-wheel drive system. Keeping the car in control at all times is Lotus’ intelligent torque distribution system. This powertrain propels the Eletre from zero to 100 km/h in under five seconds and can clock a maximum top speed of 265 km/h.
In addition, the Eletre incorporates advanced multi-link suspension systems in both the front and rear, constructed from lightweight aluminum components. The Eletre comes equipped with dual-chamber air springs, a standard feature across the entire Eletre range. These air springs allow for individualized management of ride height and firmness.

To elevate the driving experience of the Eletre, Lotus has equipped it with numerous cutting-edge tech. The vehicle boasts an intuitive 5G-capable infotainment system with a spacious touchscreen, granting access to navigation, entertainment, and connectivity functions thanks to the Lotus Hyper OS. This SUV seamlessly integrates with smartphones, features advanced driver-assistance systems, and offers optional enhancements such as adaptive cruise control and a premium sound system, ensuring a blend of convenience and safety.
As for tech that improves the driving experience of the Eletre, the Eletre comes with an extensive set of standard features, including active air suspension, continuous damping control, torque vectoring, Lotus Intelligent Dynamic Chassis Control, Matrix LED headlights, Adaptive Cruise Control, Visual Park Assist, four-zone climate control, 12-way electrically adjustable front seats, a head-up display, wireless compatibility with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, and a powerful 1,380-watt 15-speaker KEF Premium Audio system.
- Exterior
-
In terms of design, the Eletre showcases a dynamic and assertive front end, complemented by a sleek, coupe-style roofline. It's evident that Lotus' designers have drawn upon their expertise in crafting elegant sports cars. However, the vehicle's overall proportions undeniably convey its SUV character.
Thanks to a low roofline, the Eletre looks like a low-slung supercar with just bigger than usual proportions. Located at the car's front, you'll find a compact active grille comprising individual 'petals.' These petals open to facilitate cooling when the electric motors, front brakes, and battery pack require it. At the back, the Eletre employs a series of spoilers, fins, and wings to aid in aerodynamics.
- Interior
-
The Eletre comes in a five-seater layout with a three-person rear bench. Inside there’s an array of materials, including microfiber, hand-stitched textiles, a blend of sustainable fabrics, and meticulously crafted accents. This combination creates a remarkably luxurious interior, a departure from Lotus's traditional focus on stripped-down, lightweight designs found in their previous sports cars. The sports seats provide comfort for extended journeys and Lotus gives customers the choice to upholster it with their fabric of choice.
The fabric choices in question, aside from being lightweight are also environmentally friendly. Lotus has incorporated fully recyclable materials that use less raw materials in production. The carpets, for example, are made from Econyl, a recyclable material that is built from 100 percent consumer waste.
- Safety
-
Being a luxury crossover, the Eletre is equipped with a suite of safety features. Aside from the usual safety systems like airbags, the Eletre comes equipped with an extensive array of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) designed to enhance your driving experience. These include Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Highway Assist, Collision Mitigation Support Front, Traffic Sign Information, Door Open Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Life Detection and Care, Lane Keep Aid with Lane Departure Warning/Prevention, Parking Emergency Brake, Collision Mitigation Support Rear, and Emergency Rescue Call.
