The Mazda6 Sports Wagon is a midsize wagon sold by Mazda Philippines. It carries the same award-winning KODO – Soul of Motion design language showcasing its sporty and elegant character but with a mix of practicality and versatility of a wagon body type. The new Mazda6 Sports Wagon, like its sedan sibling, also has the new grille design, Adaptive Headlights, LED fog lamps and rear combination lamps, and darkened high-luster coating for the 19-inch wheels. Inside too gets a heads-up cockpit display, drive selection switch, and a 7-inch touchscreen MZD Connect with 11 speakers BOSE sound system. The cabin is also rich in nice soft touches that speak of high-quality, available in black or a dealer optional white leather.
To further achieve that zoom-zoom credentials the brand is known for, the Mazda6 Sports Wagon is powered by the same high-efficiency 2.5L SkyActiv-G direct-injection gasoline engine found in the sedan version. This power unit is mated to a SkyActiv-Drive 6-speed automatic with sport mode. Mazda included other special features for this model such as the i-STOP Idling Stop system, i-ELOOP Regenerative Braking system, and Lane Departure Warning. It's also one of the Mazdas that have G-Vectoring Control, which improves handling and cornering stability.
The Mazda6 formally made its way into our market on April 5, 2013. It initially came in the form of a Sedan but Mazda later introduced a Sports Wagon variant. In July 2019, Mazda Philippines gave the Mazda6 Sports Wagon a facelift, which gave it a new face and a sole naturally-aspirated 2.5L gasoline power plant option.
Under the hood of the Mazda 6 Sports wagon is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine. The engine features Mazda’s SkyActiv technology and produces 187 hp. The caveat is that the gasoline-fed mill only produces 252 Nm of torque. Similar to that of the Sedan, the Mazda6 Sports Wagon utilizes Mazda’s GJ platform. For suspension, it rides on McPherson struts on the front and multi-link in the rear.

The Mazda6 Sports Wagon comes standard with an 8-inch touch screen LCD monitor. The head unit also comes with Bluetooth and smartphone mirroring capabilities. Sound is sent around the car via an 11-speak Bose system, designed to give you the best sound quality. Further adding to the tech in the vehicle it also comes with a heads up display unit, visible on the front windshield.
Other features include dual-zone climate control along with rear ventilation louvers for the rear passengers. In addition to these features are a start/stop system.
The Mazda6 Sport Wagon’s exterior features Mazda’s Kodo design language, which emphasizes the soul of motion. This gives the vehicle a flowing design. Adding to the design appeal, all variants of the Mazda 6 come with 19-inch wheels. To put the power down the wheels are wrapped with 225/45 tires.
The Kodo design language also makes its way to the front of the vehicle as it features a mesh design grille paired by LED adaptive headlights on either side. The rear combination lamp at the back, however, does not get the LED treatment and sticks with halogen bulbs instead. All variants of the Mazda6 come with an electric sunroof. Other features of the vehicle are its color-matched power-folding and power-adjustable side mirrors. Putting the Sport in Sports Wagon, at the back of the vehicle is a pair of dual-tip exhausts.
Seating material for the Mazda6 Sports Wagon is Nappa leather in Deep Chestnut paired with Senwood accents. Power seats are standard for both the driver and front passenger. The driver gets an 8-way power-adjustable seat while the passenger gets a 6-way power-adjustable seat. If more space is needed inside the wagon, it has a 60/40 second row with a one-touch fold option. Within those seats lies two USB ports for charging convenience.
Safety in the Mazda6 Sports Wagon comes in the form of six airbags in the vehicle. These are located strategically throughout the vehicle. Aside from the front passenger and driver airbags, there are side and curtain airbags as well.
Other passive safety features that the Sports wagon has are ABS, EBD, and dynamic stability control. Safety reminders are also there in the event that the driver fails to wear his or her seatbelt. For those with kids, the vehicle comes standard with ISOFIX anchors, as well as child lock protection.
