Meet the VF 5, a battery-electric A-segment crossover from the Vietnamese automaker, VinFast. The small crossover measures 3,967 mm long, 1,723 mm wide, and 1,578 mm tall with a 2,514 mm long wheelbase. Powering it is a 100 kW electric motor powered by a 37.23 kWh capacity lithium iron phosphate battery.
This motor and battery combo means the VF 5 can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 130 km/h. As for range, VinFast claims the VF 5 is capable of achieving a driving range of 326 km on a single charge.
Launch
The VF 5 is part of VinFast’s inaugural lineup of models for the Philippine market. The VF 5 made its entry alongside the launch of the brand on May 31, 2024. Prices for the VF 5 as well as other models in the VinFast lineup have yet to be announced.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The VF 5 sits on VinFast’s A-segment battery-electric crossover platform and is equipped with front-mounted electric motors giving it a front-motor, front-wheel drive layout. The electric motor is capable of producing 134 hp and 135 Nm of torque with electricity provided by a lithium iron phosphate battery with a 37.23 kWh capacity.
According to VinFast, the VF 5 can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 130 km/h. Furthermore, the VF 5 can achieve a driving range of 326 km on a single charge.
As for the suspension, the VF 5 is equipped with an independent MacPherson strut suspension at the front while the rear gets a torsion beam suspension setup. The 17-inch wheels house ventilated disc brakes up front and solid rear discs at the back providing strong and consistent braking power.

The VF 5 is equipped with an array of tech features to improve the driving and riding experience inside the A-segment crossover. For driver aids, the VF 5 comes with a hill-start assist system, a tire pressure monitor, stability control, a blind-spot monitor, cruise control, and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution.
As for creature comforts, the VF 5 comes with an eight-inch touchscreen display with Android Auto connectivity, manual air-con, and keyless entry with a push-start ignition system.

The front fascia features a sharp and distinct grille that is brought by VinFast’s unique V-shaped fascia design, enhancing its striking presence on the road. Interior
The interior of the VF 5 offers a spacious and modern-looking cabin adorned with a combination of matte and shiny plastics along with a few soft-touch surfaces.
