The Volkswagen T-Cross is the brand's entry-level crossover in the Philippines. It sports one of the longest wheelbases in its segment allowing for more interior space for its passengers. Launch
The Volkswagen T-Cross has its Philippine debut on May 26, 2021. With prices starting at P1,098,000 for the entry-level S variant and P1,198,000 for the top-of-the-line SE variant. Volkswagen Philippines has also announced that there will be a special introductory discount of P30,000 for all variants of the T-Cross bringing the price down for the S variant and SE variant to P1,068,000 and P1,168,000, respectively.
In 2022, the T-Cross gained Volkswagen's Active Info Display (AID), a high-resolution, full-color digital instrument cluster that displays a variety of driving information. It's available on the T-Cross 180 MPI AT SE with AID variant at a price of P1,250,000.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The Volkswagen T-Cross, in the Philippines, rides on the automaker's MQBA0 platform which it shares with the Volkswagen Polo. This gives the vehicle a sedan-like ride despite its much larger size. It is important to note that the locally available T-Cross comes with a much longer wheelbase compared to what is available in other countries, this gives the vehicle an advantage in its segment locally. Technology Features
For its infotainment system, the T-Cross comes with two screen size options. The S variant gets an 8-inch unit, while the top-of-the-line SE variant gets a larger 9.2-inch system that both come with Apple CarPlay. Cruise control is standard throughout the lineup, as is an electronic central door locking system.
Exterior
The exterior of the T-Cross features Volkswagen's newest design language with a large grille and defined body lines. The overall styling is similar to the older Tiguan, but it has a lot more details that make it look like a thoroughly modern vehicle. The top trim SE variant gets 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and also LED taillights. S variants of the T-Cross, on the other hand, will get 16-inch wheels, and halogen headlamps, however, it will retain the LED taillights that can be found on the SE variant.
The overall dimensions of the T-Cross come in at 4,218 mm long, 1,760 mm wide, and 1,599 mm tall, making the subcompact hatchback a sizeable model in the segment. The model comes with 5 doors, and a ground clearance of 185 mm, allowing it to traverse less-than-stellar roads.
For color options, the T-Cross has a wide array of vibrant hues to choose from. While the S variant only gets Polar White and Chinchilla Gray, the SE variant gets Polar White, Chinchilla Gray, Romance Red Tribu, and Syringa Violet.
Interior
The interior of the T-Cross features a young look with premium trimmings. While you can get a more sedate interior design with the S variant, the SE features colored trimmings that match the exterior color of the T-Cross. Cloth seats are present on the S variant, but the top-spec SE gets leather seats for a premium touch. To add to the interior atmosphere, Volkswagen has equipped the T-Cross with a panoramic sunroof to allow natural light to enter the cabin when opened.
Apart from that, you get Volkswagen's signature steering wheel that is pleasant to use especially when wrapped in leather, as well as the leather seats that give a premium feel of comfort when sitting in the cabin.
Safety
As for safety, Volkswagen has equipped the T-Cross with 2 airbags for the entry-level trim, and up to 6-airbags for the top-of-the-line SE trim. The top-spec variant gets a driver, front passenger, side, and curtain airbag units that net the vehicle good amounts of safety. Meanwhile, the T-Cross is internationally recognized in various countries for its NCAP safety rating. The European NCAP, Australasian NCAP, and Latin NCAP have all tested and awarded the T-Cross with a 5-star rating for safety. Service center in Greenfields lacks the friendliness and professionalism. During my first check up of the car they just take a look at it. They didnt do anything else. Really waste of my time, and I was not confident that my car is being maintained properly by them.

Service is OK but the car itself, I'm not sure as I have experienced loss of power a month after purchasing the car. It only happened once but still makes me nervous and anxious of my safety every time I'll use the car.
