Did you know you can mix gas with class? It's electrifying - well, sort of! At the Manila International Auto Show 2024, GAC Motor Philippines introduced the Emkoo Hybrid. The new model is the brand's entry point into hybrid vehicles. The Emkoo Hybrid retains the design and comfort of the standard Emkoo but includes an advanced powertrain combining a gasoline engine and an electric motor.
The Emkoo Hybrid is made with a 2.0-liter ATK engine that gives off 140 horsepower and 180 Newton meters of torque. The engine works with an electric motor capable of 180 horsepower and 300 Newton-meters of torque. The car can switch between using gas, electric power, or both as needed.
Safety features of the Emkoo Hybrid include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane keep assist.
Astara Philippines' brand head for GAC Motor, Franz Decloedt, mentioned that the Emkoo Hybrid's launch at the Philippines' primary auto event recalls GAC's pledge to introduce quality vehicles in the market.
"The launch of the GAC Emkoo Hybrid at the Philippines' premier automotive event underscores our commitment to introducing top-tier GAC vehicles to the market. This hybrid model reflects GAC's forefront position in hybrid technology and highlights GAC's dedication to providing versatile mobility solutions tailored to different lifestyles and needs."
If you are planning to be one of the first ones to get their hands on the steering wheel of this new hybrid, you may have to wait a bit more. While prices for the Emkoo Hybrid have not been announced yet, the vehicle is scheduled to go on sale in June 2024. More information about this hybrid car is expected to be released as the sale date approaches. In the meantime, you can check out GAC's lineup at AutoDeal and get a quote for the vehicle of your choice.
