Changan Auto recently announced its impressive sales figures and future plans for global expansion. In terms of vehicle sales, Changan Auto achieved a total of 2.346 million units sold worldwide, showing a two percent increase compared to the previous year. What's even more remarkable is the surge in the sale of new energy vehicles (NEVs), with 284,000 units sold, marking a substantial 160.5% year-on-year growth.
The financial performance of Changan Auto also demonstrated remarkable success. The company closed the year 2022 with a net profit of RMB 7.798 billion (US$1.122 billion), showcasing a significant 119.52% increase compared to the previous year. These figures highlight Changan Auto's robust presence in the global automotive market and its ability to achieve consistent growth.
Looking ahead, Changan Auto has set ambitious goals for its global expansion strategy under the initiative named “Vast Ocean Plan” which was announced at the Automotive Industry Exhibition in Shanghai, China. The company plans to extend its reach into various regions, including Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). By 2025, Changan Auto aims to introduce at least 30 new global products through 3,000 new overseas outlets. Moreover, by 2030, the company aims to establish itself as a world-class automotive brand, surpassing a US$10 billion investment in overseas ventures, exceeding an annual overseas sales volume of 1.2 million units, and expanding its overseas workforce by over 10,000 employees. Changan Auto's long-term vision revolves around transforming into an intelligent low-carbon travel technology company, showcasing its commitment to sustainability and innovation.
The recent display by Changan Auto at the Shanghai motor show further emphasizes its vision. With the theme "Changan Reaches the World," the company presented its comprehensive range of new energy products, including the S7, SL03, UNI-V iDD, UNI-K iDD, Z6 iDD, and Lumin. This showcase underscores Changan Auto's dedication to advancing technology and its commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions for environmentally friendly transportation.
The President and CEO of Changan Motor Philippines, Inc. (CMPI), Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, expressed her enthusiasm for the Changan brand and its global influence.
