The Changan Un-K is the brand's newest entry into the mid-size crossover segment in the Philippines. It slots above the Changan Uni-T and offers more space, a more premium interior, and more technology than its smaller sibling. It is only available with one variant which carries a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and an 8-speed DCT that sends power to all four wheels. It is also loaded with technology with multiple displays, voice control, and advanced driver assistance systems.
Launch
The Changan Uni-K was launched in November of 2022. It was launched with only one variant available and was showcased alongside its smaller brother the Changan Uni-T. It is powered by a 2.0-liter Blue Core TGDI engine that is paired with 8-speed automatic transmission. It carries the brand's latest Vision-V design language and comes with a substantial amount of technology. It is positioned above the rest of Changan's other crossover vehicles and offers a more premium experience.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
Powering the Uni-K is a 2.0-liter Changan Blue Core TGDi engine that produces 229 hp and 390 Nm of torque. It sends power to all four wheels via an 8-speed shift-by-wire automatic transmission with options for a two-wheel drive (2WD), automatic, and four-wheel drive (4WD) lock with an All-Wheel Drive Switch Button. Stopping power comes from ventilated discs at the front and discs at the rear. As for its suspension, the Uni-K rides on a MacPherson setup at the front and a multi-link independent suspension at the rear.
For its technology features, the Changan Uni-K comes with the brand's smart cockpit and has a smart quadruple-screen interactive layout. The LCD digital instrument cluster also comes in three parts, the left section displays tire pressure and door conditions; the middle section shows vehicle speed, augmented reality real-view navigation, multimedia interface, and vehicle status; and the right section comprises a digital rear-view mirror, tachometer, and fuel gauge. It also comes with a Sony 12-speaker sound system with a subwoofer.
Safety
For its safety features, the Changan Uni-K comes with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that lets the crossover achieve level 2 autonomous driving with an abundance of advanced safety features. These include Blind Spot Detection Warning (BSDW) that triggers visual and audio alerts for rear side warning, door opening, and lateral warnings; Lane Keeping Assist (LKA); Automated Emergency Braking (AEB); Integrated Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) with Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC); Lane Departure Warning (LDW); Front Collision Warning (FCW); Rear Cross Traffic Alert among others.
