You know watt's up? BYD has yet again bagged another win by being the number one seller of New Energy Vehicles worldwide, and this is really great news for Filipinos. Selling over 3 million cars in 2023, a whopping 61.9% jump from the year before, BYD has marked a 61.9% increase from the previous year and is definitely showing what the future of driving could look like — cleaner and greener.
With the Philippines' own Mobility Access Philippines Ventures, Inc. (MAPVI), a subsidiary of Ayala Corporation, being the exclusive distributor of BYD cars, the news is something for us to think about as the carmaker prepares to bring its cars to the local market.
BYD's global growth in electric car technology and its strong sales around the world give Filipinos assurance in the quality and reliability of these cars. With different models like the BYD Han and Tang, as well as the compact Dolphin and the ATTO3, there's likely a BYD car that fits what Filipinos are looking for.
As reported by Autocar Philippines, MAPVI's president, Antonio Zara III, is proud of what BYD has done and is ready to bring more BYD electric cars to the Philippines.
"We at MAPVI are delighted and proud to witness BYD, our partners in sustainable mobility, achieve its targets for 2023. With BYD's strong support and presence in the Philippines, we can only look forward to contributing significantly to the brand in the years to come as it sets even higher goals. MAPVI's mission is clear – we aim to make BYD cars truly accessible to more Filipinos by democratizing our cars and services while creating more avenues and touchpoints for them to understand, appreciate, and enjoy the clear benefits of Electric Vehicles."
Since 1995, BYD has grown from making batteries to leading the charge in electric car tech. Clearly, the brand has a commitment to making cars that are good for the planet, which fits right in with what many in the Philippines are starting to look for in a car.
Filipinos can look forward to having more options for electric vehicles soon, and with BYD's reputation, these cars could be exactly what many are looking for in their next vehicle. For now, you can take a look at BYD's current offerings and get a quote for the BYD of your choice.
