BMW 4 Series Coupe Overview
The 4 Series Coupe by BMW Philippines. Targeted toward the young, and adrenaline-inspired Filipino car enthusiasts, the 4 Series Coupe evokes an aura of absolute driving pleasure and performance, with a touch of high-level German craftsmanship. Sports-oriented through and through, the 4 Series Coupe features aggressive lines and aerodynamic angles, with its two-door configuration that helps deliver an aggressive stance. It is based on the 3 Series sedan and is part of BMW’s move for even-numbered vehicles to have a coupe-style body.

The latest iteration of the 4 Series was brought to the Philippine market in 2021 and sports a larger kidney grille.
The 4 Series nameplate made its way in the Philippines in 2014 under the distributorship of Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC).
Launched in 2013, the 4 Series is part of BMW’s move for even-numbered vehicles sporting a coupe-like or two-door body style.
- Platform, Chassis and Powertrain

The G22 BMW 4 Series is heavily based on the G20 3-Series, with minor differences in chassis configuration for the coupe-like body style. It still uses the Cluster Architecture (CLAR) platform, which uses high-strength steel and aluminum.
The wheelbase measures 2,851 mm. Its length comes in at 4,768 mm, width at 1,852 mm, and height at 1,383 mm. Suspension is provided for by a set of MacPherson struts in the front and a multi-link suspension in the rear, damped by a set of hydraulic shock absorbers.
The BMW 4 Series comes in two variants and is only offered with one engine option, the BMW TwinPower 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine making 184 hp and 300 Nm of torque mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, though the M Sport variant does get M Sport dampers as standard.

The tech features available in the BMW 4 Series Coupe cater to the needs of the modern driver. Ambient lighting enhances the mood for any drive, as well as an interior rear-view mirror with auto-dimming or anti-dazzle function. As for the infotainment system, the 420i variant comes with an 8.8-inch infotainment system with BMW's famed iDrive system. Utilizing a dial and a touch screen for flexibility, the 4 Series houses one of the more intuitive head units of its class in the form of BMW’s Live Cockpit Plus. Connectivity options for the 4 Series include Bluetooth and a USB-C port for data. On top of that, other features include an automatic tailgate, park distance control for the front and rear, a rearview camera, and a follow-me-home function for the headlights.
For driver aids and comfort features, you get an engine start/stop function, brake energy regeneration, comfort access system, cruise control will automatic braking, driving experience control, steering wheel controls, a parking assistant, and BMW's Servotronic system.

The BMW 4 Series made a massive change in the front fascia of the vehicle with large kidney grilles upfront with the rest of the body sporting the exact dimensions and design as before. The 420i variants come standard with 18-inch wheels. The coupe body style gives the 4 Series a much more athletic look than the 3 Series sedan with a lower roofline and slightly more aggressive body lines.
Those opting for the M Sport variant get 19-inch M Sport wheels, and an M Sport aerodynamic kit, which makes the 4 Series much more aggressive.
- Interior

The interior of the 4-Series is spacious and features BMW's sport seats with Sensatec upholstery. Black high-gloss finishes also adorn the interior, along with velour floor mats for added luxury. The steering wheel is also leather-wrapped, as are the key touchpoints of the car like armrests and door cards. The driver and front passenger both get electronic seat adjustments with a memory function for the driver. There is also dual-zone automatic climate control, and the Ambient lighting also enhances the atmosphere in the car, further adding to the experience.
The M Sport variant gets M Sport Seats, M Seatbelts, and an M Sport steering wheel.
- Safety

Safety-wise BMW has fully-equipped the 4 Series with the latest features. This includes driver and front passenger airbags, side airbags, head airbags for the front and rear passenger, side impact protection, ABS, an engine immobilizer, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC with extended contents, a crash sensor, and ISOFIX tethers for child seats.
