The Camaro’s long muscle car heritage and its stint as Bumblebee in the Transformers movie franchise propelled it into popularity, capturing the hearts of muscle car enthusiasts in the Philippines. Now, Chevrolet Philippines has unveiled its all-new model at the 2019 Manila International Auto Show with even meaner exterior execution. Also, there is the addition of an RS badge on the front grille. The RS package includes 20-inch wheels, LED headlamps with an LED light bar, dark tail lamps, black front, and rear bowtie emblems, and RS-specific grille. Despite the number of new iterations over the years, the 2019 Camaro still has that retro look with a beefy, aggressive stance making it a popular choice among Filipino muscle car lovers. The Camaro seats 4, with leather seats and a slew of modern-day gizmos cleverly blended in with the demeanor that this car evokes. Under its hood is Chevy’s 2.0L Ecotec engine. This is obviously smaller than the engine on its predecessor, capable of 275hp. This turbocharged 4-cylinder comes as standard on the entry-level models of the Camaro in the United States – although the arrival of the 3.6 V6 engine is still plausible.
Launch
The Chevrolet Camaro launched in April of 2019. Unlike the previous generation available locally it no longer has a V8 or a V6 option. The only engine option for the performance yellow bowtie vehicle is a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. It is only available with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The only engine option that is powering the Chevrolet Camaro is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The 2-liter produces 275hp and 398 Nm of torque. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. It rides on General Motor’s Alpha platform and comes with independent sport suspension on all four corners. Stopping power comes from 4-piston Bremo brakes at the front and performance disc brakes at the rear.

Technology Features
The Chevrolet Camaro comes with an 8-inch color display, with configurable multi-informational display with digital and analog gauges. It also comes with a link to driver mode. The vehicle also features a configurable, colored, multi-informational heads up display. For cooling the Camaro comes with dual-zone climate control. For infotainment separate from the 8-inch display, the yellow bowtie vehicle comes with an 8-inch my link touchscreen system. The head unit is also Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capable. Sound is sent through a 9-speaker BOSE premium sound system.
Exterior
The Chevrolet Camaro comes with a complete suite of LED head, fog, and tail lights. It comes with 5 spoke aluminum wheels, decklid rear spoiler, honeycomb front grille, and dual stainless steel exhaust pipes.
Interior
The Chevrolet Camaro comes with a black-themed leather interior. The vehicle comes with a driver’s side sport bucket seat, that comes with 8-way power adjustability, heating, and cooling functions, and with a memory function. The front passenger seat, on the other hand, gets 6-way power adjustability, ventilation, and heating and cooling. The second row of the performance vehicle can be folded in order to create more space inside the cabin.
Safety
For safety, the Chevrolet Camaro comes with a 3-point seatbelt with a pre-tensioner and load limiter warning for the front passengers. For the second row, the vehicle features a 2-point seatbelt with pre-tensioners. The vehicle comes with SRS airbags located in the following areas, near the driver and passenger, knee area, side-impact, and head curtain area. ISOFIX anchors are also present in the car. It also comes with brake assist, EBD, StabiliTrak system, Lane change alert, side blind zone alert, tire pressure monitoring system, anti-theft alarm, and engine immobilizer.
