Dodge Challenger Overview

Among the many famous nameplates in the Dodge collection, the Challenger is certainly iconic enough to deserve recollection, especially after being immortalized by Vin Diesel in the widely popular Fast and the Furious franchise, along with its sibling, the Charger. That’s right, the Dodge Challenger is guaranteed to get any petrolhead excited thanks to its selection of 3.6-liter V6 engines and 6.4-liter supercharged V8s.

The Dodge Challenger name has been here for quite some time, in fact, the very first Challenger started production back in 1970. In its current iteration, the third-generation Dodge Challenger started production in 2008. Here in the Philippines, the Challenger is available in two variants, the GT which is powered by a 3.6L V6, and the R/T Scatpack which is powered by the iconic 6.4L HEMI V8.

The Dodge Challenger is available with two engine options in the Philippines, a 3.6L V6, and a 6.4L HEMI V8.
The Challenger GT, equipped with the 3.6-liter V6 puts out 304 hp and 644 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the crazier Challenger R/T Scatpack’s 6.5-liter V8 generates 485 hp and 644 Nm of torque.
Moving further along, the Challenger GT and R/T Scatpack share most of its components with key differences in some areas. The GT gets sports suspension, all-season performance tires, performance disc brakes, and a rear stabilizer bar.
As for the R/T Scatpack, this variant gets performance tires, an active exhaust system, Dodge’s widebody competition suspension package, and best of all, six-piston front brake calipers from Brembo.
