Chery Philippines compact crossover offering is the Tiggo 7 Pro. An updated and better version of the brand's Tiggo 7 model, it serves as the second generation for the 7-series of crossovers in the Tiggo lineup of Chery. Featuring a unique design with a stylish and dynamic feel with a distinct character that is unique to the Tiggo lineup of vehicles. Equipped with a 1.5-liter TCI Turbocharged 4-cylinder, the Tiggo 7 Pro carries over the existing engine from the Tiggo 7 and is paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that has 9 simulated speeds. You also get seating for up to 5 individuals and a unibody chassis. Locally, there is only one Tiggo 7 Pro variant available in the market. On top of the nicely padded spec sheet of the Tiggo 7 Pro, you also get Chery's free 3-year preventative maintenance package, 3-years EC roadside assistance, 5-year or 150,000 km general vehicle warranty, and 10-year or 1,000,000 km engine warranty.
Launch
The Tiggo 7 Pro was launched in the Philippines on January 27, 2021, at 7:00 PM in an online launch on Facebook which was hosted by Sam YG. The All-new Tiggo 7 Pro serves as the brand's other compact offering apart from the standard Tiggo 7 which will still be sold alongside this new model after its launch.
In October 2021, Chery Philippines would give the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro access to Android Auto to all of the new and existing models.
Two years after its first launch, Chery introduced a new variant to the Tiggo 7 Pro nameplate, this time featuring hybrid tech. On July 2023 Chery brought the Tiggo 7 Pro MHEV to the Philippine market, and while it isn’t a full-blown EV or hybrid, it features a 48-volt belt starter generator that sets it apart from similarly sized SUVs in that it boasts increased fuel efficiency. The Tiggo 7 Pro MHEV had an introductory price tag of P1,250,000, P100,000 less than its future SRP of P1,350,000.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The Tiggo 7 Pro is built on a unibody chassis, and its dimensions come in at 4500 mm long, 1824 mm wide, and 1746 mm tall. It rolls on a set of 18-inch alloy wheels which are attached to a MacPherson Strut in the front and a multi-link suspension setup in the rear. The drivetrain of the Tiggo 7 Pro is transversely mounted, and its 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine delivers power to the front wheels. Its motor produces 145 hp and 210 Nm of torque and is mated to a CVT with up to nine simulated gear ratios. The wheel and tire combo of the Tiggo 7 Pro comes in at 225/60/R18. Apart from that, the crossover features dual-mode electronic power steering which allows the steering feel to be either light or a bit weightier for more stability at higher speeds.
Introduced in July 2023, the Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid possesses the same 1.5-liter engine its non-hybrid counterparts have, but with the addition of a 48-volt belt starter generator providing extra fuel efficiency, and a bit more power. The electrified Tiggo 7 generates 156 hp and 230 Nm from its 1.5-liter engine paired with a CVT. As for the rest of the components, the Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid shares the same brake and suspension setup as the pure internal combustion engine Tiggo 7 Pro.

The driving performance of the Tiggo 7 Pro is similar to that of its brother, the Tiggo 7. Equipped with a unibody chassis, and fully-independent suspension in the front and rear, the Tiggo 7 Pro drives with the smoothness of a sedan, while mostly retaining the ride height and added suspension travel of an SUV. The handling of the Tiggo 7 Pro was light and the acceleration of the car is respectable given its adequate power figure. The suspension is geared more towards being soft than being sporty, and space in the interior is enough to seat 5 people for a relatively long stint on the road. Driving modes also help make the experience more novel, with a sport mode that helps the car feel sharper and more planted at higher speeds, and a comfort mode that makes the steering lighter and the acceleration smoother.
Technology Features
The technology inside the Tiggo 7 Pro starts with a large 10.25-inch touchscreen display, which is then complemented by a seven-inch fully-digital gauge cluster for the driver to look at and interact with to access all pertinent information needed such as your tire pressure thanks in part to the tire pressure monitoring system included in the package. As for the large infotainment system, it comes equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and is supplemented by a wireless charging pad for compatible devices. Drivers and passengers will also enjoy a clear and high-resolution display which also serves as the display for the 360-degree camera which is augmented by front and rear parking sensors.
On top of that, you get premium features with this vehicle which include a push-start system with keyless entry and remote start, as well as an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function. For easy boot access, Chery has outfitted the Tiggo 7 Pro with a power tailgate as well. On top of that, there is the added sport and comfort mode which makes the steering either heavier or lighter, and the throttle response more economical or sharper. Buyers can also expect these features to be available on the electrified Tiggo 7 Pro MHEV.
Exterior
Starting with the front of the Tiggo 7 Pro, the grille has a strong and unique design that gives a stylish and distinct character to the crossover. Chery has also equipped its crossover with a full array of LED bulbs in the form of their Matrix LED Headlight, which features multi-cavity reflectors and strong cool-colored LED lights that are up to three time as bright as the standard halogen lights bulbs. This is mixed in with the daytime running lights which add a hint of style and daytime visibility. The side of the Tiggo 7 Pro features a very prominent floating roofline, that is brought to life by the blacked-out pillars and covert D-pillar to create a sleeker look and futuristic design.
Interior
The interior of the Tiggo 7 Pro is spacious and fully-featured. For the driver, you get a tilting and telescoping steering wheel which is covered in perforated leather with flex grooves for a comfortable driving experience. You also get cruise control on your steering wheel and multimedia controls to keep the driver's hands where they need to be while driving. You get a full leather interior with power seats for both the driver and the front passenger, as well as electronic lumbar support for the driver for ergonomics. Automatic climate control also comes standard with the crossover, as does an N95 cabin filter which protects from dust and other microorganisms that may be suspended in the air. You can also interact with the climate control system via an 8-inch screen which complements the infotainment and the gauge cluster quite nicely, giving a more modern look and feel to the interior. Apart from that, you get up to 475 liter of trunk space with the rear seats up and up to 1,500 liters with the rear passenger seats folded down.
Safety
As for safety, the Tiggo 7 Pro comes equipped with a driver, front passenger, side, and curtain airbags, Bosch ABS ESP 9.3 system along with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist, electronic stability program, there is also an emergency brake assist feature, a brake override system, hill descent control, hill hold control, traction control, and an emergency stop signal system.

This Chery is ripe for the picking. The 2021 Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is the best-looking vehicle in the Chery lineup so far. The compact crossover comes with a slew of features and some darn good looks. Equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, and a price tag of P1,198,000, the Pro presents a great value.
Worst service manager you can deal with. He bargained for 48hours to fix the aircon, when we arrived around 11AM hindi pa nasisimulan ayusin they just started around 1PM and natapos nila ng 5PM. Take note ha, nag bargain pa ng 2days kaya naman pla tapusin ng within 4hours kasama na yung pag car wash dun ha. Unbelievable experience talaga sa long time "Manager" daw na yun. 🙄

Buying the unit thru Chery North Edsa was very easy, SA was very responsive. It is difficult however to schedule PMS, service was either unresponsive or very late to respond to queries. Chery North Edsa should definitely step-up its after sales service.
