Chevrolet Suburban Overview
For 88 years, the Suburban maintains to be Chevrolet Philippines' premium SUV in the country. It's size, looks and spacious cabin makes both old and new fans fall in love with it. An hourglass shaped front grille that blends well with the headlights give it an intimidating appeal, while a sculpted body and minimalist side and rear maintain a classy look. Eight people can enjoy the premium leather seats, tri-zone air conditioning, and Bose premium sound system. A generous cargo space, on the other hand, ensure you bring more than just the essentials. For safety, passengers are protected with airbags including side and curtain given as standard. Available with four-wheel drive, the Chevrolet Suburban runs on a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine that produces 355 hp with 516 Nm of torque. Transmission is a 10-speed automatic with selectable drive modes. Chevrolet's Dynamic Fuel management system with Direct Injection ensures you maximize every drop of gas, while a Magnetic Ride Control system is available for real-time modification of the suspension during a trip. You can get two options for the Suburban, the Z71 with the normal fittings, or if you prioritize comfort and luxury over space, the High Country is available as well.

The twelfth generation of the Chevrolet Suburban quietly entered the market in 2022, almost immediately after the Tahoe was launched by Chevrolet the same year. The Philippine variant of the full-sized SUV comes powered by a 5.3-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine. The behemoth of an engine comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle is locally available in two variants, the Z71 or the more comfort-oriented High Country.

The 2022 Suburban sits on an all-new platform developed by GM, the T1XX, it shares this platform with its equally large brother, the Tahoe. Powering the new Suburban is a 5.3 Liter gasoline EcoTec3 V8 engine with Dynamic Fuel Management and Direct Injection. The output of this massive engine is 355 horsepower with a monstrous torque figure of 518 nm at 4,100 rpm. Sending all this power to the wheels is a 10-speed Automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift. The Suburban gets auto four-wheel drive and selectable drive modes. The job of stopping the Suburban is given to ventilated disc brakes on all four wheels. The tires are different depending on what Suburban variant you choose, the Z71 Suburban is fitted with wide 285/50R20 All-season tires while the High Country gets slightly slimmer 275/50R20 All-season tires.

Entertainment in the Suburban comes courtesy of its 10.2-inch Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system. This system has mobile integration with Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and of course, Bluetooth.
The speaker systems for both the Z71 and High Country were developed by Bose, with the Z71 receiving a 9-speaker system while the High Country gets an upgraded, Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System with 10 speakers. The High Country also gets two 12.6-inch touchscreens for the rear entertainment system, a panoramic sunroof, as well as a power sliding console. For the rest of the features like wireless charging pads, passive entry, Push/Stop-start ignition, Remote Engine Start, Power Liftgate, Lift-glass access, and roof rails, the Z71 and High Country get these as standard.

On the outside, the Suburban Z71 and High Country get Intellibeam and LED lamps for their headlamps, daytime running lights high mounted stop lights, and tall lamps. The front wipers for both cars have Rain Sense tech and intermittent wipers for the rear window. A high-approach skid plate and red recovery hooks come exclusive for the Z71 variant. Both variants stand tall sittting on top of 20-inch alloy rims. Overall, the car’s new full LED lamps and grille give it a refined yet tough look.

The 2022 Suburban’s interior is wrapped in leather, from the seats, dashboard, and even door trims. The interior color for the Z71 is stealthy with its jet-black color, the High Country which is designed more for comfort receives the jet-black and clove trim.
Up-front drivers get an 8-inch multi-colored instrument cluster, High Country buyers will also get a Heads-up display in addition to the instrument cluster. The center console for both cars is a 10.2-inch Chevrolet MyLink touchscreen. The Z71 can seat 8 people with a 2-3-3 seating configuration, while the High Country sacrifices a seat in the second row to fit captain seats for the front and second rows.

The Suburban features a hefty amount of safety technology to keep its occupants safe. Both variants come equipped with SRS airbags for the driver and passenger, center airbags, second-row airbags in driver and passenger seats, and front and rear curtain airbags. The Suburban’s body is built with crumple zones, and side door impact beams in the event of crashes. The Z71 and High Country are fitted with a slew of stability controls such as ABS, traction control, electronic stability control, Hill Start Assist, and Hill Descent Assist.
For its driver assistance systems, the Suburban comes with Front Pedestrian Braking, Lange Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Rear Pedestrian Alert, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
