The JETOUR X70 Plus stands as the flagship of the X70 series, powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine delivering 156 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. While it shares the same performance specs as its stablemates, the X70 Plus sets itself apart with a more luxurious and premium interior. Unlike the standard black interior of the X70, the X70 Plus features a bold red cabin accented with metallic trim, giving it a more upscale feel. On the exterior, it boasts a more aggressive design, highlighted by a wider grille, sleeker headlights, and multi-spoke wheels.
Additionally, this crossover comes equipped with advanced safety features. Overall, the X70 Plus, as the name suggests, elevates the X70 name to a higher level.
Launch
The JETOUR X70 Plus was launched along with the announcement of JETOUR’s entry into the Philippine market in March 2023. At launch, the JETOUR X70 Plus came with the X70 which includes the Journey, Travel, and Sport variants. All variants of the X70 SUV are propelled by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The JETOUR X70 Plus is built on a platform with a length of 4,720 mm, width of 1,900 mm, and height of 1,695 mm. The vehicle's wheelbase of 2,745 mm guarantees generous cabin space and stable handling. With a minimum ground clearance of 210 mm, the Jetour X70 Plus's chassis is made to sustain a comfortable ride while providing vehicle stability and handling.
The suspension system is tuned for comfort and responsiveness, making it appropriate for different terrains and driving styles, while the platform uses a front-wheel-drive configuration, giving users a good driving experience. JETOUR X70 Plus offers different transmission options, including a five-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic transmission, with the vehicle's speed topping out at 185 km/h.
The powertrain generates a maximum power of 156 hp at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 230 Nm, available across the 1,750-4,000 rpm range. The engine also includes technology such as turbocharging, an exhaust manifold, integrated cooling, and DVVT (Dual Variable Valve Timing), enhancing its efficiency and power output.
Inside, the JETOUR X70 Plus features a 10.25-inch LCD dual smart screen paired with six speakers, the largest infotainment system fitted in the X70 lineup. Comfort amenities include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a multi-function steering wheel, a reverse camera with a panorama function, and rear parking sensors.
In terms of driver aids, the X70 Plus has anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control, hill-descent control, active rollover prevention, and electronic stability control. It also has a limp home mode that activates whenever the vehicle senses a failure in its system.
Exterior
The exterior dimensions of the JETOUR X70 Plus include a length of 4,749 mm, a width of 1,900 mm, and a height of 1,720 mm. The 2,745 mm wheelbase supports the vehicle's spacious interior and stable ride while having a ground clearance of 210 mm, which helps in different road conditions. Providing some additional height and enhancing its aggressive exterior are massive 20-inch wheels. The design also includes an ultra-wide-field panoramic sunroof for a more aesthetic appeal while having a view of the sky, natural light, and ventilation inside the cabin.
Interior
The interior of the JETOUR X70 Plus is made to accommodate up to seven passengers, with ample legroom and headroom for comfort during long drives. The interior design also includes a large touchscreen, which serves as the hub for controlling various vehicle functions and settings. The interior of the vehicle has noise-reduction features for passengers to enjoy a quiet environment during the ride.
Safety
Safety in the JETOUR X70 Plus starts with multiple airbags that are placed to provide protection to all occupants in the event of a collision. The SUV also includes ISOFIX points for child seats for the safety of younger passengers. Additional safety features include electronic stability control and traction control systems, while the vehicle's braking system offers features like an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) and AUTOHOLD, improving the general safety and smoothness of driving.
