Lexus RZ 450e 2024

Lexus launched the sleek RZ 450e EV on May 5, 2023. The RZ 450e comes in a single variant priced at P4,828,000. Lexus’ EV comes with all the bells and whistles that come with cars built by Lexus, featuring the Direct4 AWD system and Lexus’ Safety system +3, Color options for the RZ 450e include Sonic Quartz, Sonic Chrome, Sonic Copper, Sonic Iridium, Graphite Black Glass Flake, and Aether Metallic. 

The RZ is built on an EV version of the Toyota New Global Architecture platform developed by Lexus’ parent company, Toyota. The RZ is equipped with a  71.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and two electric motors that combine to generate an impressive 309 horsepower and a robust 435 Nm of torque. 

Lexus claims that the RZ's battery can power the car for up to 450 kilometers on a single charge. Additionally, the RZ is equipped with Lexus' Direct4 AWD system, which, along with a low center of gravity and floor-mounted battery, allows the vehicle to sprint to 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in a mere 5.3 seconds, all while weighing  2,110 kilograms.

The RZ 450e comes standard with an onboard 11kW charger that can fully charge the vehicle in approximately 6.5 hours when connected to a three-phase power supply. If connected to a one-phase power supply, the charging time may take up to 10 hours as it can only utilize 7 kW. To speed up the charging process, the RZ 450e also supports DC fast charging, which can recharge the battery up to 80 percent in around 30 minutes.

The RZ's cockpit is a true technology hub, featuring a twin-screen setup that includes an eight-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen display. The system is fully compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto and also comes equipped with a navigation system. The vehicle offers numerous USB charging ports, catering to both USB type A and C, along with a power outlet, wireless charging pad, and a multi-color LED ambient lighting system. Dual-zone climate control adds an additional level of comfort to the cabin.

In addition to the aforementioned tech features, the RZ offers a host of other luxuries such as power-adjustable front seats, ventilated front seats, a 10-speaker sound system developed by Mark Levinson, an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree panoramic camera system, a panoramic sunroof, and a heads-up color display. Furthermore, the vehicle is also fitted with the Lexus Safety System + 3, a comprehensive suite of intelligent driver aids and assistance features that ensure a safe and secure driving experience.

The RZ 450e has an avant-garde look that showcases the automaker's dedication to providing electrifying driving experiences through its Seamless e-Motion design philosophy. The designers of the RZ 450e have pushed the boundaries by creating a unique version of the Lexus spindle grille, utilizing the electric powertrain to its fullest potential. With no need for a conventional grille to facilitate cooling, the front end of the RZ 450e is devoid of conspicuous air vents, resulting in a minimalist yet chic design that is sure to turn heads. Teamed with a set of sophisticated headlights, the front fascia of the RZ 450e exudes a distinct charm that is both captivating and refined.

Furthermore, the RZ has a sporty and streamlined roofline that enhances the vehicle's aerodynamic efficiency, as well as an LED lightbar that spans the entire width of the car and adds to its robust appearance. Additionally, the RZ's sides boast bold, chiseled lines and curves that contribute to its aerodynamic and stylish design.
