Now in its eight generation, the Toyota Camry continues to cater to premium lifestyles and executive tastes with its spacious interior, generous creature comforts, and advanced technology. The midsize sedan features thin chrome accents at front and rear, which give it the right amount of class, while the slight curves around the body maintain the business look of the sedan. The interior is splashed with leather, while wooden veneer panels give a refreshing look from the usual same color and texture of dash and door trims.
The Camry seats five people, with all passengers able to enjoy a nine-speaker JBL sound system connected to a nine-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As of 2022, Toyota offers the hybrid version of the Camry. It packs a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder gasoline-electric hybrid engine with Toyota’s HEV technology.
Launch
The current generation Toyota Camry was launched on December 10, 2018. It serves as the Japanese automaker’s entry into the midsize sedan segment. Beginning in 2021, Toyota Philippines only offers one Camry model: the Hybrid 2.5 HEV.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
The current-generation of the local Toyota Camry rides on Toyota’s New Global Architecture GA-K platform. Powering the mid-size sedan is a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder gasoline-electric hybrid engine making 175hp and 221 Nm of torque. The engine can only be had with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). For suspension, the mid-size sedan comes with MacPherson strut with stabilizers for the front and double wishbone suspension with stabilizers for the rear. Stopping power comes from ventilated disc brakes for the front and solid discs at the rear.

Driving Performance
The Toyota Camry with its 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine does well to get the car going. It doesn't have as much power on reserve compared to its older 3.5-liter V6 counterpart but the 4-cylinder engine is more than suited for the job. The engine does its job very well when it comes to delivering power when needed. The 6-speed transmission is no slouch either as it would downshift when requested. Putting the midsize sedan into Sport mode livens up the engine making it more responsive. Stopping the Camry is no problem thanks to its set of disc brakes.
The Toyota midsize sedan handles well in the corners and delivers a composed and reassuring ride. It does an excellent job of mitigating body roll in corners. Tight city maneuvers aren't a problem for the vehicle either as the steering wheel is nicely weighted and won't make you break out into a sweat when maneuvering.
Technology Features
The Toyota Camry features plenty of advanced tech features, including a seven-inch Multi-Information Display (MID), a head up display (HUD), and a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Camry also comes with smart entry, a push-to-start button, three distinct driving modes, and electric vehicle (EV) mode for driving on pure electric power. Other notable features include three-zone climate control, speed-sensing door locks, onboard wireless charging, and automatic headlights with a follow-me-home function.
Exterior
For the exterior, the Toyota Camry comes with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and a headlamp leveling device. The Toyota midsize sedan features a sleek design with a wide lower grille in black. The upper grilles come in body color and are topped off at the center by a Toyota logo. At the rear of the vehicle are its predominantly clear tail lights save for the inner portions of the housing that come in red. The rear also features Hybrid badging and a dual exhaust tailpipe that comes with a diffuser. The Camry also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped around 235/45R18 tires.
Interior
The Interior of the Camry comes in a black theme that spills over to the seats of the vehicle. The Camry comes with an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory and lumbar support features for the driver, while the passenger gets a straightforward eight-way power-adjustable seat. There’s also a moonroof with jam protection functionality, power-recline rear seats, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and an abundance of storage space and interior lighting.
Safety
For safety, the Toyota Camry comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS). TSS on the Camry includes a re-collision system, automatic high beam, lane tracing assist, lane departure alert, and dynamic radar cruise control. In addition, the Camry gets blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, five SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, and hill-start assist control. Rounding out the safety features are ISOFIX tethers, an LED high mount stop lamp, emergency brake signal, a panoramic-view camera, a total of eight clearance and back sonars, and the Toyota Vehicle Security System (TVSS) with an engine immobilizer and theft alarm.
The current-generation Toyota Camry has a 5-star rating from the ASEAN NCAP.

I've owned the Toyota Camry HEV for 7 months now. I bought it from Toyota Ilocos Norte but couldn't select it on this site. I've had it serviced, slept in it, drove it from Manila to provinces like Nueva Ecija, Baguio, and Batangas. It's a great car and maintenance is low, even when serviced at a dealer, at P10k and some change. It's really efficient with my average fuel consumption at 17.4 km/L. It's comfortable on long drives for both passengers and driver, has a very proactive vehicle collision avoidance system, carries about as much as you'd expect from a sedan in its category, and doesn't scrape on even the worst roads I've been to (think: Manila City, the end of Mindanao Ave approaching P. Dela Cruz area, dirt roads in Subic, etc.)
The only things that can be taken against it on day to day uses are the plug-in apple car play/android auto, and the small headlights make it hell for the Easytrip RFID scanning machine.
It's a great car for the price category and I couldn't be happier with my choice of vehicle.
