Subaru Evoltis Overview
The Subaru Evoltis is the brand's latest 7-seater midsize crossover in the Philippines. In other markets, the model carries the 'Ascent' nameplate. It is worth noting that the all-new Subaru Evoltis serves as the successor of the Tribeca, a midsize crossover that's also made available for the Philippine market years ago. Unlike its predecessor which has a larger 3.6-liter Flat-Six, the all-new Evoltis is powered by a new 2.4-liter turbocharged Flat-Four Boxer engine that paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Like most Subarus, the midsize crossover also comes with a symmetrical all-wheel drive system, making it the perfect companion for your outdoor adventures. While other countries have the option of second-row captain seats, the Philippine-specced Subaru Evoltis is made available with an 7-seater configuration.
- Launch
-
Subaru Philippines launched the facelift to the Evoltis at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). The seven-seater was refreshed for the 2023 model year and was sold for P3,780,000. The new look was paired with enhanced safety features for this edition of the seven-seat crossover, which also featured captains' chairs in the middle row.
In May of 2021, the Subaru Evoltis marked its first-ever appearance on Philippine soil. The model was touted as the biggest car that Subaru has ever produced, and it holds that title up against other big hitters in the Philippines like the Outback and the Forester. The dimensions of the Evoltis helped cement its reputation in the Philippines, and its initial launch price was P3,480,000.
- Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
-
The all-new Subaru Evoltis is built under the brand's SGA platform or formally known as 'Subaru' Global Architecture'. There's only one engine available for the Evoltis, while the Flat-Six from its predecessor was already axed, Subaru gave the all-new midsize SUV a small yet more potent 2.4-liter turbocharged Flat-Four Boxer engine that puts out a healthy 256 hp and 375 Nm of torque. The said mill is then paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Like some of its stablemates, the Subaru Evoltis comes standard with a symmetrical all-wheel drive system which should help you tackle unexpected obstacles ahead. You can also boost its off-roading capabilities with X-MODE, therefore, giving drivers confidence in motion.
For the other particulars of the chassis, the Evoltis rides on a set of 20-inch wheels wrapped in 245/50/R20 tires. The ground clearance of the model is set at 220mm, its curb is 2,181kg, and the model also features a turning circle of 11.6m. As for its dimensions, the Evoltis comes in at almost five meters long, cementing its reputation as the biggest Subaru in the lineup today. The exact dimensions come in at 4,998mm long, 1,930mm wide, and 1,819mm tall, on a wheelbase of 2,890mm.

-
The Subaru Evoltis comes with a ton of tech features. As the biggest Subaru in the lineup, it rightfully gets the best in the Japanese brand's portfolio of features. The infotainment system is an updated tablet-style screen that measures 11.6 inches diagonally. Climate control, multimedia, vehicle settings, and more are also displayed here on this screen. The size of the Evoltis presents a rather peculiar problem, which is passenger-to-passenger communications. To address that "problem," Subaru equipped the Evoltis with the Cabin Connect feature that allows the driver or front passenger to get in touch with the passengers in the third row. Similar to an intercom system, it takes the voices in the front and relays them to the rear seats. Whether it's music or the intercom system, the Evoltis is given the best that Subaru can get, and that's a Harman Kardon speaker system that promises premium audio playback and quality. Connecting your smartphone is also easier thanks to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto baked into the infotainment system.
Perhaps the biggest draw to the Evoltis is Subaru's EyeSight system, which includes a bunch of semi-autonomous driving assists and features. The system is a tech feature as well as a safety feature as it allows for adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, autonomous emergency braking, and also cameras that cover all ends of the vehicle. The EyeSight system is also improved year-over-year as Subaru continues to innovate. Now the smartest that it has ever been, the system makes an appearance to provide peace of mind and also added convenience to the driver with 360-degree monitoring as a huge bonus for this huge crossover.
- Exterior
-
The exterior of the Evoltis is new for the 2023 model year. The facelift continues the legacy of the model's broad and proud front-end but with a few tweaks and enhancements. The grille is more prominent than ever, and it features redesigned LED headlights with a few more aggressive cuts and lines in the front bumper. Lower-edge air ducts were also added for the facelift, and the back sports a new set of updated Konoji C-shaped taillights that give this model a new and refreshed look.
Marked as the biggest Subaru today, the Evoltis comes in at a length of 4,998mm long, 1,930mm wide, 1,819mm tall, and it rides on a wheelbase of 2,890mm. There's no getting around its size, and it is also quite high off the ground with a clearance of 220mm. Wheels come in at 20 inches in diameter, and its total curb weight is set at 2,181kg.
- Interior
-
The Evoltis comes in one trim level, which means that all features mentioned are standard and uncompromised. The top and only trim level in the lineup comes with leather seats, a ton of tech features, as well as a load of creature comforts for a premium driving and riding experience. The driver's seat has a 12-way power adjustment system, while the front passenger gets a four-way power adjust seat. The seating is laid out in a 2+2+3 configuration, with the second row being an exclusive space for "VIPs." Captains' chairs can be found in the second row, while the bench at the rear is split-folding and can also tuck neatly into the floor of the Evoltis. As for the cargo volume of the crossover, the Evoltis has up to 498 liters of capacity with all the seats up. Fold down the seats and you can get more than double the amount of available space. Folding the rear seats will essentially quadruple the available space, with the maximum volume coming in at 2,061 liters.
- Safety
-
For safety, Subaru has a full suite of active and passive systems that are designed to prevent and mitigate an accident or crash. Subaru advertises its Symmetrical All-Weel Drive system as a safety feature that'll save a slip or an out-of-control situation from getting out of hand. Dual-function X-Mode with auto restore and hill descent control are also available under active safety features that help you descend hills and keep the car from rolling away uncontrollably. Subaru's vehicle Dynamics Control System is an over-arching safety feature that keeps the car in check in case of a loss of traction or other accident-causing happenings will occur. Paired with ABS with EBD, auto vehicle hold, active torque vectoring, an electronic brake booster, a brake assist system with brake override, and an electronic parking brake rounds out the active safety features and are made even better with Subaru's EyeSight 4.0. The new EyeSight system is in its smartest form yet. The suite of features includes a driver monitoring system, steering responsive headlights, high beam assist, EyeSight assist monitor, reverse automatic braking, multi-view monitor system, Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection System, and also a multi-view monitor system.
Passive safety features include front, side, curtain, and driver knee airbags, safety pedal system, as well as Subaru's global platform with a breakaway boxer engine, shock-absorbing front bumper, and whiplash protection on the front seats, as well as a collision detection unlock.
